my phone - NIGHTMARE!
Almost 40 years ago we sent man to the moon. Doctors transplant vital organs, grow new skin for burns victims, animals & humans are being cloned, and computers can now fit into the palm of your hand. Communication has progressed at a rapid pace. Operator connected calls, telegrams and red public phone boxes have made way for a new era in communication technology. World leaders, politicians, royalty, international corporations, friends and families communicate across the globe, can contact or be contacted almost immediately at the touch of a button. How amazed we were with the release of the "mobile brick". The big black carry case, spiral cord, huge handset and aerial, that weighed a ton. It wasn't that long ago. Technology progressed, mobiles are smaller and smaller. More and more features were added, we now have colour graphics, musical ringtones, SMS, MMS, and internet access. We now have the ultimate. Phone, Email, Computer, Internet, Organiser, Camera, Music. A device that fits in the palm of your hand and allows you to access your desktop computer and work files from anywhere. They are the most up to date, advanced communication tools on the market today.
Why then, do they lack the most basic of mobile phone functions? What is the point of having a device with the ability to hold so much vital information and is such an important tool for business, if the tiniest glitch such as battery failure or loss of power results in every file and piece of data being wiped from the memory? Most standard mobiles save all data directly to the SIM card regardless of battery disconnection or failure. Did nobody think this feature was important???The inconvenience and sheer time consumption involved reloading settings and info, re- establishing network settings etc is more of a hindrance than an advantage. After 3 battery failures, 6 hours just trying to power up the phone and keep it on, I'm left with a $900 clock. This is technology gone mad.
Not Happy.
