Merry Christmas AKP...

Danna (Ed) & I miss you guys and christmas isn't the same without our madcap laughter and fooling around with tons of alchie and charles sitting on Nash's face and Ben going off to another party and us celebrating X'mas as a family.

-gasp- Did I dare say that? AKP as a family? Funny how we bonded and looking at all the memories and many many many MANY years to come, I wish this family all the best and good health. Let's face it, we only live once. Let's make it an easy one to go through!

The audacity of youngsters these days.

Received a call from my Sis en route home from camp that they were involved in a minor accident with this young chap (19 years old to be exact). It wasn't really my mum's fault and the dude's stupid van only sustained like three tiny scratches. He actually demanded 50 bucks from my mum to "repair the damages". Like wtf, my mum was being kind; seeing that he's just a young kid and didn't want to blow up the matter!

By the time I got there, the transaction was already done and unable to stomach the matter, I called back to the guy's father. Here was another unreasonable grouch; he insisted it was my mum's fault and the money was for the "repair of the vehicle".

what the hell. Cheapos are rampant in Singapore and we just had to bump into one. I offered to give them another $50 bucks (since they are so fucking hard-up) and slammed down the phone.

Vehicle No: PA 2923D - If you people see this bloody van on the road, you know what to do.

Hongkie

Since when has the way our country is governed got to do with any other people around the globe?

As a Hongkie (though they are Chinese who can't speak Mandarin), he should understand the logic of "every country has its laws; every home has its rules". You come into our country and commit a crime, you jolly well accept and face the music. If his views on the enforcement of law and order is retardardly simple, it simply reflects on how badly his own country is being governed.

Drug trafficking is, and always has been, a crime that is not tolerated. If Hongkies, or anyone around the world, wants to seek justice for the "drug trafficker who wasn't allowed to hug his mother before he was hung", understand first that illegal drugs are potent as they sound and can cause disastrous damage to both the consumer and the society. Singaporean or not, you tempt the law, you accept your fate.

Lee Kuan Yew as a political criminal is simply a groundless and childish accusation. And indeed, Singapore is a wealthy and developed country, and we're proud of that. No qualms about it.

Just for info, though Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau are considered developed by some organizations, the People's Republic of China, a developing country, claims the land of the first, and exercises sovereignty over the latter two. Get the picture? or do I have to draw it out?

Tell that bloody Hongkie to do his research properly before he lashes out at someone else's country. Every individual person speaks for his country, and this Hongkie has just shown Singapore how simple-minded some Hongkies are.

I think it is very well said by u. I had the same reaction as u. My colleagues say that im heartless, cos it doesnt happen to me or ppl ard me. I say, its his fucking problem to do drug trafficking. He knows wat he's up against before he do wat he did.

If i were the government, i wont even allow any contact. Imagine the many request that will be coming in everytime someone is going to be hang! Its not the mother who is going to have to reject them, nor the Aussie Government.. Like our government don have enough to deal with.

I feel that they shouldnt make their problem, other ppl's problem.

I felt for the victim's mother but truth is, he committed a crime and there are consequences to it. That's it. I thought. End of story. My brother sent an email to me, regarding this case. It was sent to my brother's girlfriend and written by a Hong Konger whom she knew from Melbourne.

I wish you would write more coherently and with a better statement but your email putting down the Singapore government really irks me. Some may see it as being "cruel" because the mother wasn't granted a hug with her son, but she's lucky enough to have been able to hold his hand. Singapore does not normally give in such requests.

To just speak ill of Singapore and the way we are governed and even to the extend of name-calling MP Lee Kuan Yew is just pure slander and ill-behaviour on your part. Singapore is governed by rules and rules that are printed out in black and white. Deem it as unreasonable if you wish, but drug trafficking happens to be a crime that is certainly NOT tolerated here. If any should choose to challenge the authority or ignore the regulations, they should be prepared to pay and suffer the consequences. Also, what's with the phrase, I quote, "Pls, sent ur message to the so called "wealthy or developed country" and their MP."

Why are you even trying to make insinuate that Singapore is NOT a developed country nor is it a wealthy country? If you have any personal issues with Singapore's progress in terms of wealth, technology, etc, so be it. But it is a separate issue from the case of Nguyen Truong Van. So please, if you would, think carefully before you write a statement next.
